Who am I?

This isn’t easy to share, but I think it’s time.

For most of my life, I was stuck in a cycle of dieting, gaining, losing, and starting over. I’ve lived with food addiction, emotional eating, and the weight—both physical and emotional—that comes with it.

Everything changed in 2019. I was 32 when I woke up one day with a blind spot in my left eye. The diagnosis? Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. At the time, I weighed around 250lbs—and that wasn’t even my highest.

The next year was a blur of hospital visits, lumbar punctures, and endless pain. By the end of 2020, I was 270lbs, housebound, unable to drive, and honestly, I didn’t want to keep going. I’d hit rock bottom.

On New Year’s Day 2021, I took what felt like one last shot at change. I started small. I lost 15lbs in a few months by making small, manageable changes to my eating. Then something unexpected happened—I discovered a 12-week free gym programme through my GP. I was terrified, but I showed up.

That first session, I lasted five minutes on the treadmill. But I kept going. Every single day. Slowly building up—5 minutes became 10, then 20. I added more machines. Eventually, I was doing over an hour of cardio daily. And the most surprising thing? I loved it.

When I was finally cleared for strength training, it opened up a whole new world. Classes, weights, structure—it all made me feel strong in ways I hadn’t felt in years. Exercise helped lift my mental health as much as it did my physical health.

Of course, the food side was still a challenge (it still is some days). But with every bit of progress, I started making better choices. My relationship with food is something I actively work on—no shame, no perfection, just progress.

Fast forward to today: I’ve lost 145lbs. My BMI has dropped from 45 to 20.5. I’ve gone from a UK size 24 to a size 6/8. I’ve got my life back—and I’m living it on my terms.

That’s why I became a personal trainer. Because I know what it’s like to feel completely stuck. To be overwhelmed. To feel like your body and your life are out of your control.

Workout For Wellness isn’t about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all plans. It’s about meeting you where you are, building at your pace, and giving you the tools to take back control. Whether you're just starting out or starting over—I’ve been there, and I’m here to help.
